HILTON HOTEL at the             UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON         CONRAD N. HILTON COLLEGE

Houston, Texas

The Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant management is a top tier University program in educating professionals for careers in the hospitality industry. As part of the experiential learning at the College students have opportunities to be a part of a working hotel at the Hilton University of Houston. The hotel and College are linked both physically and by their namesake, creating a bond for students and fostering the dream of its founder.

The eighty-room hotel, built in 1975, was originally to be the teaching hotel for the College and serve the needs of the University. But its close proximity to downtown Houston and the wonderful campus atmosphere made the Hilton a preferred hotel for business travelers and visitors from outside the school.

Following an extensive search, the College turned to Portfolio Associates to act as architect and interior designer for this important renovation. Veterans of more than forty Hilton-branded hotel projects, Portfolio was well-suited in their understanding of not only the Hilton brand but in their grasp of the hospitality industry.
